YOW Jazz, June 25, 2024: Ottawa Jazz Festival, Part 2
The Ottawa Jazz Festival is well underway and I will preview those artists still to come
The Ottawa Jazz Festival has coped well with the rain so far and the forecast is looking more promising for the last 6 days of the festival.
The highlights for me, so far, were Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society and the Hutchinson Andrew Trio with Al Muirhead and PJ Perry.

On this show I’ll be previewing the following instrumental artists:
Butcher Brown
Steven Bernstein's Millennial Territory Orchestra
Rafael Zaldiver
Chris Potter Trio
The Festival has an amazing array of female jazz vocalists this year, and I will be featuring the following artists:
Nora Jones
Laura Anglade
Gabi Hartmann
Veronica Swift
The Festival also has a number of free performances by local artists and I will be featuring previews for the following local artists:
Wayne Eagles Trio
Linsey Williams Wedding and Funeral Band
Steve Boudreau
Peter Hum
The James McGowan Ensemble
On my next show (July 9) I’m planning to feature Ottawa Jazz Festival 2024 favourites. Since one person cannot see all of the performances, I’m depending on input from those who attended the festival to tell me what moved them (physically or spiritually) so I can add it to the playlist. You can either leave a note in the comments, direct message me, or make a comment on the YOW Jazz show page.
You can listen to the show live at 93.1 FM in Ottawa or via the CKCUFM.com website. The show will be available for on demand streaming shortly after broadcast.
