Rabble Without A Cause, March 26: New Releases
Canadian saxophonist Nicola Miller plus the Christopher Dammann Sextet and others
This week’s show will be a selection of new releases. We will start with Nicola Miller, a saxophonist from Nova Scotia with a track from her new release, “Living Things”. The musicians on the album are:

Christopher Dammann is a Chicago-based bassist with his debut release as a leader, “Christopher Dammann Sextet”. Accompanying him on this release are:

Edward Wilkerson, Jr. - tenor saxophone, Eb alto clarinet
We are going to listen to a suite — “No Hope At All Other Than I Don’t Want To Die Today”. Here is another track from the release, “If I Could Time Travel I Would Mend Your Broken Heart AKA Why Did The Protests Stop”.
On the show we will also hear Michael Sarian, Matthew Putman, Federico Ughi, and Ledian Mola from their new release, “The Sea, The Space, and Egypt, Vol. 1”.
The album is, in the words of the artists, “a heartfelt tribute to Sun Ra”. Volume 2 of this recording session is on its way. We will hear a couple of tracks from volume 1.
We will end the show with bassist Brandon Lopez and gayageum master DoYeon Kim, from their new release “Syzgy, vol. 1”. The gayageum is a traditional Korean instrument, resembling a zither. Here is DoYeon Kim playing a solo.
