Rabble Without a Cause, March 19: Mary Halvorson and Sylvie Courvoisier's new release - "Bone Bells"

Featuring their new duo release plus a conversation about their collaboration

Sylvie Courvoisier (piano) and Mary Halvorson (guitar) have collaborated on three albums. In this show we will hear some of their second release, “Searching for the Disappeared Hour” but will focus on their new release, “Bone Bells”.

You will also hear part of my conversation with both of them about their collaboration and the new album. We talked about noteworthy piano and guitar duos but there was only time to include one of those — Fred Hersch and Julian Lange — in the show. The other two we discussed were Oscar Peterson with Joe Pass and Bill Evans with Jim Hall. Here’s “Darn that Dream” from the Bill Evans and Jim Hall release, “Undercurrents”.
